- Baltimore-Towson had the second highest AIDS case report rate of any major metropolitan area, 37.7 cases per 100,000 population during 2006.
- On June 30, 2007; Maryland had a total of 34,024 people living with HIV and AIDS (Cases reported through June 30, 2008).
- While Maryland ranks 19th among the 50 states and the District of Columbia in total population, in 2006 Maryland was 9th in cumulative number of AIDS cases (30,571 through 2006) and 3rd in AIDS case report rate (29.0 cases per 100,000 population during 2006).
- Since HIV reporting began in 1994, Maryland has detected approximately 2,100 new infections per year. On June 30, 2007, there were 19,042 Marylanders living with HIV who have not developed AIDS.
